We Believed…but, alas, the Cubs did not. For this film, we followed the team during the 2008 season, which was the 100th anniversary of the last time the team won a World Series. It would have been a fairy tale ending had they won it all that year. However, despite having the best record in baseball, they were blown out in the first round of the playoffs. Our last interview, post-season, was with the brilliant and eloquent Bob Costas who put everything in proper perspective at the end of the picture. Also put into perspective for me was a great lesson of filmmaking: don't ever presume you know how the story will end.John Scheinfeld
